Community outreach
Wellspring is committed to reducing the stigma associated with perinatal mood disorders and to limit their negative impact on both mothers and children, especially in underserved populations. Mothers that lack access to sufficient clean diapers report higher levels of parenting stress as they struggle to meet their children's basic needs. These high stress levels can lead to or worsen postpartum depression and anxiety. Wellspring Psychological Services seeks to address this risk factor by operating as an informal diaper bank, collecting clean diapers to deliver to those in need in the community. Oftentimes, as babies grow, families have a surplus of too-small diapers. We are happy to collect extra diapers, either leftover or newly purchased, and deliver them to individuals and agencies in need.
